Teaching Tip Thursday

It is time for Teaching Tip Thursday with The Teaching Tribune! (Look at that alliteration!)
Here is my tip for you,
Teaching is a profession that will suck you in. You can work as much or as little as you want.
Yes, we all know those teachers who come in at the start of the day and leave immediately at the end of the day. You also know the teacher that is there when the building is opened and leaves when the custodial staff kicks them out. Then there is the teacher who works a little early to a little after school and does even  more at home. Every teacher is somewhere on that continuum. No matter what, we have to find balance or we will burn out! There is always more that can be done, it does not mean it CAN be done.
As my sweet friend Alison said,
Seriously, you need to take time to enjoy your non-education time to be the BEST teacher you can be. Besides, your family needs you too and you don't want all the good recess times to pass because you were too busy!
With that being said, I am signing off. I need to go play with my boys, it is RECESS time!
What do you like to do during your recess?
(Teacher Truth: I would like to sit in my pajamas all day and zone out with the TV.)
Do you have a tip to share? Link up with The Teaching Tribune

  1. There is NOTHING wrong with staying in your pajamas ALL day and watching T.V. Seriously...this IS my idea of a GOOD time! I'm more productive in my pajamas. I have begged to be able to wear my pajamas to work, but they just tell me that I can wear them underneath my clothes. It's not the same thing. I am so glad you are enjoying your recess day with the boys...y'all better be having LOTS of fun!!!

  2. This is a great tip to remember. I am too often the one who brings it home, I just can't help it. The boys know every Sunday night I will be cutting and laminating...lol. Enjoy your time off!

  3. You betcha it's OK that the To Do List does not get completed! And I agree with Alison...there is NOTHING wrong with an all day pajama day. I love those days!
